After a break of four years, County Camp returned in June 2023, allowing Guides & Rangers from across Girlguiding Dundee to camp, cook, play and learn new skills together at our outdoor centre, Newbigging.
With two hot sunny days, and a damp final morning, the girls had a great time. For many of our Guides it was their first camp, so it was a quick learning curve putting up their tents on Friday night.
Saturday crafts included paracord and tie-dye, with lots of help on hand, and welcome shade under gazebos and the marquee.
Camp skills included backwoods cooking over fires, which is always popular, toasting marshmallows for S'Mores.
Another new skill for many was Tomahawk throwing, led by our trained instructors. The Rangers were very proud of their efforts!
And County Camp wouldn't be complete without a campfire - with singing, actions and fun.
