Wigwams at Newbigging

Our three wigwams sleep 5 or 6, and are a great alternative or addition to tents at camp.

Perfect for those:

  • with mobility challenges,

  • who are new to camping,

  • who feel "too old" for a tent,

  • who fancy a change.

The wigwams have space for your kit, and beds can be moved aside during the day. They have no electricity or heating, but warm up quickly on sunny days.

Groups using the wigwams can use the wet weather shelter and campsite toilet/shower block. The wet weather shelter building includes a small hall (6.5m x 5m), and is equipped with electricity, an electric water boiler, fridge, freezer and tables and chairs.

Girlguiding units can hire equipment allowing up to six patrols plus central cooking. We have fire shelters, altar fires and gas stoves available for hire (there is a small charge for gas).
