Campsite at Newbigging

Our campsite is a three acre, flat site, largely square-shaped, with a view of the Sidlaws. It's a beautiful, peaceful location, filled with birdsong, and you can hire one or more wigwams at the same time.

A modern toilet and shower block is about 25 metres from the site entrance, with three toilets and a shower, plus a toilet and shower with disabled facilities.

There are taps and a flagpole on the field, plus picnic tables with benches, and a purpose-built campfire circle. There is also a small backwoods cooking area, and a stocked woodstore.

A wet weather shelter building includes a small hall (6.5m x 5m), and is equipped with electricity, an electric water boiler, fridge, freezer and tables and chairs.

Girlguiding units can hire equipment allowing up to six patrols plus central cooking. We have fire shelters, alter fires and gas stoves available for hire (there is a small charge for gas). They can also hire a wide range of tents – lightweight, Icelandics and Bell tents, plus two large activity tents, a dining shelter and a marquee (20 sq.ft).
